What’s Your To-Do List Look Like?

December 10, 2010

Running your own business is like having a bunch of kids under the age of 7 in your household. There is always, always something to do and never enough time in the day to do it all. Like your business, all the kids need your attention, but wouldn’t it be nice if there was a way to lighten the load. (In the business, not the kids!) Many businesses are short-handed because of necessary cut-backs due to this economy, which makes it harder on everyone else, especially you the business owner. Here are five ways you can cut that endless to-do-list.Lists

  • Stop Paying Attention To The Bad News: This isn’t about putting your head in the sand, but paying attention to your customers more and paying attention to what works.
  • End A Contentious Relationship: Whether it is with a client or employee, don’t let the relationship drain your energies.
  • Quit Selling Some Of Your Products Or Services: If you are being pulled in too many directions it can lead to mistakes; don’t lose money when you go outside your core of competency. Your free time will produce profits.
  • Don’t Answer Your Own E-Mail: Or if you do, assign a time to do so. Being on email all day is draining and can be unproductive.
  • Stop Eating Alone: Don’t scrimp on business lunches and ALL business is about relationships.

At GAI (www.gunwel.com) we are here to help you with your business on every level possible. Give us a call today at 212-979-6830 or stop by for a visit. A visit to Gunwel is worth putting us on your to-do-list. See you soon!
